Each year, the LSST Discovery Alliance (LSST-DA) Summer Student Program brings an international cadre of students together at a major Rubin LSST collaboration meeting.
We proudly supported 19 undergraduate students’ attendance at the 2023 Rubin Project and Community Workshop in Tucson, AZ, in August. The students enjoyed tours of the NOIRLab Machine Shop, conducted by Ron Harris, and the Caris Mirror Lab, conducted by Cathi Duncan. The students also presented their LSST-related research. The new Director for the undergraduate student program is Ryan Oelkers from Texas A&M University.
