LSST Cadence Hackathon

A group of at least eight people working at tables as part of LSST Cadence Hackathon in New York.

Workshop Description

LSSTC and the Simons Center for Computational Astrophysics held the LSST Cadence Hackathon at the Flatiron Institute in Manhattan. The purpose of this workshop was to identify cadence strategies that maximize the scientific output of LSST for all eight Science Collaborations. At the Hackathon, participants from different Science Collaborations worked together in small teams to explore creative cadence strategies with the help of experts in the OpSim and MAF software packages. Members of teams that came up with the most promising strategies each received a modest honorarium for writing up their ideas as white papers.
