Overview
The Catalyst Postdoc Alliance brings together postdoctoral researchers across the Rubin Observatory community to accelerate scientific discovery in the era of the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). The Alliance is designed to support early-career scientists as they build collaborations, develop technical expertise, and take on leadership roles within a rapidly evolving, data-intensive field.
Through coordinated programming, training opportunities, and targeted funding, the Alliance enables members to contribute meaningfully to LSST science while expanding access to the tools, networks, and knowledge needed to fully engage with Rubin data. This includes hands-on work with the Rubin Science Platform, cross-institutional collaboration, and community-driven initiatives that strengthen scientific readiness.
Members of the Catalyst Postdoc Alliance are not only advancing their own research, but also building capacity across the broader astronomy community—developing open tools, leading workshops, and creating pathways for others to participate in LSST science.
Leadership
The Catalyst Postdoc Alliance is led by Tobias Géron, who works closely with LSST Discovery Alliance to support collaboration, training, and community-building across the program.
