Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy

David Trilling is a professor at Northern Arizona University and co-chair of the Solar System Science Collaboration. He leads the development of the SNAPS (Solar System Notification Alert Processing System) broker, which is being co-developed with the NAU computer science department. His research covers Near Earth Objects, main belt asteroids, trans-Neptunian objects, and other kinds of asteroids and weird populations in the Solar System (and beyond). He has mentored a large number of undergraduate and graduate students and postdocs. NAU has access to many telescopes (for follow-up or related observations) and a terrific high-performance computing cluster.
