LSST Discovery Alliance provides funding and organizational support for members of the Rubin community to organize hands-on events around Rubin data, software, and scientific workflows. This distributed approach enables scientific communities to develop events tailored to their interests while creating resources that benefit the broader Rubin ecosystem.
2026 LINCC Frameworks Events
New in 2026, we provide funding to institutions to run hands-on, collaborative events to further early science with LSST utilizing Rubin Observatory tools, Event Brokers, and LINCC Frameworks provided tools.
All funded events must include meaningful engagement with one or more LINCC Frameworks tools or resources as part of their scientific or technical program. Events may make use of tools such as LSDB/HATS, Hyrax, LightCurveLynx, or other LINCC Frameworks software, and are expected to produce reusable community resources—such as tutorials, software, documentation, or scientific workflows—that benefit the broader Rubin ecosystem.
Awards provide up to $25,000 USD to support event costs, along with curated LINCC Frameworks tutorial materials, organizational support, and other resources to help organizers deliver successful events.
